Eric Wright Group required a high-capacity electrical infrastructure upgrade at their head office to support a new bank of 10 electric vehicle chargers. The project involved significant enhancements, including substation installation and commissioning for an 800kVA unit, public highway cable works, and EV charger distribution infrastructure.

Serconnect delivered a full turnkey solution—procuring and installing the 800kVA substation, GRP housing, and EV charger distribution pillars. The project began with the safe disconnection and removal of an existing 3c 95 SAC LV cable, including excavation and reinstatement in the public highway.

A new 3c 300 waveform cable was installed to supply the main building. We installed and terminated three 200A Lucy Zodion pillars, each supporting 16 x 7kW chargers, along with associated earth mats. LV car charger plinths were installed by the appointed civil contractor, who also completed the public highway works.

In addition, we utilised our Option 2 status as an Independent Connection Provider, carrying out all HV and LV on-site cabling and operational duties on the Electricity North West distribution network using our own ENWL-authorised staff, ensuring safety, compliance, and reduced reliance on third parties.

The project was completed efficiently and on schedule. The new electric vehicle charging hub infrastructure supports a bank of 10 EV chargers and significantly boosts site capacity for future demands. The successful turnkey delivery by Serconnect ensured a seamless process from procurement to energisation, providing Eric Wright Group with a resilient and future-ready energy solution.
