Great Haddon - Primary Substation
Providing swift electrical emergency response, we restored a primary substation in Great Haddon back to full working order, quickly resolving their issues and future-proofing to prevent any others.
We promptly installed a temporary Sarnafil rubber roof to mitigate further water damage. After restoring the network, we left the site with the faulty section isolated and proper isolation certificates in place. On our return, we found opportunities to refurbish several feeder breakers, leading to substantial cost savings for our client.
During subsequent discussions with the client and equipment manufacturer, it was agreed that the initial installation was flawed. The equipment should have been housed in a brick structure rather than a GRP. Acting on this, we constructed a temporary kiosk for the switchgear, dismantled the existing GRP, and built a new brick structure with a sloping Sarnafil roof, complete with a drainage system and double-ventilated doors. We also installed additional heating, dehumidifiers, and an alarm system connected to the IDNO’s Scada system.
As a testament to the quality of our work as expert Independent Connection Providers, our client has commissioned us to rebuild a second switch room, further solidifying our partnership.
