Bolton Fold Farm

Bolton Fold Farm needed a bigger supply to power the new commercial units built for rent. A 200KVA transformer was crucial for this upgrade.

Solution

Since this was an Overhead Lines job in a field, we used a tracked HIAB and 4×4 MEWPs to minimise land damage and quickly set up the poles and transformer. The HV POC was located in a ditch, so we diverted water with drainage pipes to make the jointing possible.

Unexpectedly, the HV shutdown got cancelled on the planned day. We reshuffled the schedule to move the shutdown a day later, ensuring the customer still had power when needed. The client stayed updated through our PM and was happy with the outcome, even after the last-minute schedule change by ENW.

Outcome

The supply upgrade was completed on time, readying the new commercial units for tenants. Despite the unexpected schedule shift, we managed to keep the client informed and satisfied with the project’s progress and results.
